Adam Baron is a contemporary art jeweler and metalworker. Hailing originally from the Bay Area, he is currently living in New Paltz, New York, where he is pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts at the prestigious SUNY New Paltz Metalwork program. In 2020, he graduated Skidmore College Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, with a minor in fine metalwork. Upon graduation, he received the Dorothy Dryfoos Olsan Award for outstanding achievement in metalwork.
Adam Baron’s work borrows from the visual libraries of mechanism, traditional metalsmithing, and architecture. He is most comfortable with a hammer in his hand, but strives for technical mastery in every material and process he works with. His is work is concerned with the distinctions and overlap of the handmade and the mechanical, both aesthetically and conceptually.
If he’s not in the studio, you can find Adam out climbing rocks, or enjoying a book. You can connect with him on Instagram at @ambcrft, or email him at ambcrft@gmail.com
